In the race of the ages, the IAU 24-hour World Championship 2025, three women surpassed the previous world record. Furthest of all came 46-year old veterinary surgeon Sarah Webster from the Isle of Man (although she now lives in East Sussex). In this interview with Daniel Westergren, Sarah is discussing her flat pacing strategy, the importance of the crew, her surprising rise to the top of the ultrarunning world late in life and fitting in training with the life as a vet. On May 30 to June 1, 2025, Matthieu Bonne of Belgium broke the "unbreakable" 48-hour World Record, set by Yiannis Kouros in 1996. With 485.099 km he followed up the 6-day World Record that he set in Hungary last year. The 48-hour record was set during the GOMU 48-hour World Championship at UltraPark Weekend in Pabianice, Poland. Daniel Westergren interviewed him a few days after the race.
