"All the way in!" - Miho Nakata's dramatic 24-hour World Record

Miho Nakata, Japan, set a new world record in 24-hour running at the IAU 24-hour World Championship in Taipei, Taiwan, 1-2 December 2023. The new record, 270.363 km, is a mere 247 metres ahead of the previous record, set by Camille Herron at the last World Championship in 2019. A gun shot signaled one minute remaining.
